Hi, I'm Emma
Project manager. Parent. Expat living in Toronto, Canada.
A few years back, I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Canada wasn’t in our long-range plan. Like many expat moves, it began as a work opportunity and quickly grew into something much bigger.
The initial months were overwhelming — unfamiliar systems, new routines, raised expectations. Everyday tasks felt more cumbersome than they should.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, doubt, and plenty of learning through action. Gradually, routines took shape. We found spots that suited us, connected with other families, and began creating something that felt steady.
Why I Built Summer Quartz Line
Most online information was either corporate relocation guidance or surface-level tourism material. What was missing was an honest, day-to-day family perspective.
This site aims to fill that gap — practical guidance drawn from real life in Canada.
What This Site Covers (And What It Doesn't)
This site IS:
- Practical insights gained from living in Canada
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated only when something truly changes
This site ISN'T:
- Not an official tourism authority resource
- Not a platform for sponsored reviews
- Not a generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our time in Canada continues, as does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep documenting what we uncover.
If you have questions about family life in Toronto or anywhere in Canada, don’t hesitate to reach out.
Best regards,
Emma
